Upper Moreland Swim Club
I hope all of those cold and snow lovers are loving the winter this far. As for the rest of us, the invoice for the 2014 swim season is here so summer can't be far behind. Since the close of the '13 season, we've started a couple of projects. The worst areas of the deck have been resurfaced. The process involved using two kinds of machines to first grind down, and then sand smooth the affected areas. The hope is that we have eliminated the tripping hazards, and that walking around the pool will be much easier on the feet. Also, we have begun work on the parking lot. The areas in most need have been cut out and patched. The entire parking lot will be sealed and relined. We hope that this process will prolong the life of the lot and save us the enormous expense of repaving. The three sports courts will also have the cracks filled and sealed.
Enclosed, please find the invoice, please return by March 15, and the tentative activities schedule. Please pay special attention to the dates for swim team sign up. Our swim team had a great year last year, and is always looking for new team members. It's a great way for our children to get involved and meet new friends. Also, Family Day is July 19. If you have never enjoyed the dinner, please join us, and get your tickets early. Unfortunately, some got shut out last year. The final day to get tickets this year will be Sunday July 13.
In closing, the board wishes to thank every one of our returning members for your continued support, and welcome our new members. We as a board work hard to keep UMSC the safest, best, and most well maintained, as well as the least expensive facility in the area.
Dan Powers, President

Beginner 1-Your child is new to the water and does not put their face in the water. Also, they will not float on their stomach or back.
Beginner II- Your child will put their face in the water along with being able to float on their stomach or back. In addition they have the ability for some type of arm stroke when swimming.
Beginner III- Your child just needs to learn breathing technique for freestyle and refine their stroke mechanics.
Advance Beginner- Your child will have all of the stages above from Beginner 1 through Beginner III.
Intermediate - At this level your child should try out for the UMSC swim team.
Adult & Tot Lessons- An adult will accompany the child in the pool to begin learning swimming skills. This is for children who are not old enough to take direction in a class of students and need more encouragement by a parent/guardian.
Cost Per Session: $35 dollars (first student) and $20 dollars (each additional student).
Adult & Tot lessons are $15 dollars.
