Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join?

Simply fill-out a membership application along with a check for $25 (non-refundable) and you will be added to our waiting list.  The application can be found in the Forms link on the left side of the page.  The form will explain everything that needs to be done and where it should be sent.  Membership applications can be obtained at the front desk during the summer season.  To be a bonded member there is a one-time fee of $450 that is refundable should you choose to leave the swim club.  Annual member dues are currently $450 for the season if you are on the waiting list and are called upon by the membership committee.  The swim club also has Senior Couple/Senior Single (age 62 and over) memberships available.  The Senior Couple membership costs $340 and Senior Single membership is $215 for the full season.  The same applies for August memberships at $150 from August 1 through Labor Day. Any questions, feel free to contact Kevin Pflaumer at kpflaumer@comcast.net.

How do I cancel my bond?

If you need to cancel your membership with the Upper Moreland Swim Club (UMSC) before the start of the season, please submit your bond along with a written request.  If you are cancelling during the period of invoicing (February-April), please complete the invoice, check-off that you are cancelling your bond and submit it along with your bond.  If for any reason you cannot find your bond, simply mail the written request to UMSC, P.O. What is the guest policy and guest fee schedule?

Members of the swim club are allowed to bring guests into the club anytime they wish. Each guest must pay a guest fee. 2-5 years & senior citizens (age 62 and over): $3; 6-15 years: $5; and over 16 years: $8.  Any groups of guests over 8 people should be registered on an "Activities Form" available at the front desk or by download. Guests must be made aware of the Club's operating rules, especially as they relate to safety, by the members who host them!

Where can I find the Activities Form?

It can be found in the Forms link on the left side of the page. If you need to request a party reservation prior to full-time opening, contact Betty Donahue at bettydonahue@gmail.com for more info.

Who owns UMSC?

UMSC is owned by the bond holding members. When membership into the club is granted to a family, members purchase a bond at a one time fee. Each year members pay a renewal/operations fee which contributes to our opertaions budget for the season among other things. Fees also go into accounts funding pool repair, salaries for the staff, and contruction. In essence, all "revenues" go right back into repairing and expanding the club, ulitmately making it better for you!

Who runs UMSC?

UMSC is managed by the Board of Directors (BOD) and its staff. The BOD is a panel of members elected to office by the other bond holders of the club. There are 16 general board members and 4 on the executive board. Each board member serves a 3 year term, with 5 members up for election every summer. The 4 executive board positions are decided each year by the other members of the BOD. The four positions include President, Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and Treasurer. See the chart below for more information on the Board of Directors.

Who are the current members of the Board of Directors?

See the list of members on the Staff link.

What are the food policies at UMSC?

UMSC allows patrons to either bring food or purchase if from our snack bar. The UMSC snack bar offers a wide variety of foods - anything from Italian Ice to high quality steak sandwhiches cooked to perfection by our expert staff. If one wishes to not purchase food from the snack bar, patrons may carry food into the club as long as there is no alchohol or glass involved. Our picnic areas even have gas grills which allow the most flexibility with cookouts. All we ask, is that our patrons keep food and drink out of the pools and off the deck. Don't forget to wait 30 minutes before swimming after a big meal!

Who represents UMSC, legally?

Bill Eagan Attorneys-At-Law represents UMSC. Any questions or concerns can be directed to that office at 215-675-0315.
